Dividend withholding

A tax taken when the company pays profit out to you personally.

When your company distributes after-tax profit to you as a dividend, a further tax is withheld before it lands in your account. That is why company profit is effectively taxed twice — once as corporate tax, then again on the way out. Regimes like VVPRbis can lower this second layer.

In the worked example

On the worked example for a freelancer in Belgium with €115,500 of revenue, this line comes to €6,600.
